List of Earned Recognition Operators Published

The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has published a list of operators taking part in the Earned Recognition (ER) Pilot.

The list of 29 operators has been made available after an important milestone was passed on 31 January – after that date participating operators are no-longer being stopped for random roadside checks, apart from when there’s an obvious fault.

In ER, operators who have volunteered for the scheme regularly share key performance information (KPI) with DVSA.

IT systems are required for vehicle maintenance and drivers’ hours information to be shared and allow KPIs to be monitored. According to the DVSA, every 4 weeks, the IT systems tell DVSA if KPIs have been missed. If this happens, DVSA aims to work with the operator to fix any issues.

In return, and taking affect as of the end of January, participant vehicles are less likely to be stopped for inspections.

The full ER scheme is scheduled for launch later this year in the Spring. In the meantime, the DVSA is still accepting applications from operators wishing to participate. The closing deadline for applications is scheduled for February 28.
