The Coach Travel Group strengthens compliance with Microlise

Supporting a consistent approach to compliance across a growing national coach operation.

The Coach Travel Group builds on long-standing partnership with Microlise

We continue to support The Coach Travel Group as it standardises compliance across its national operation.

Using compliance technology from TruTac, part of Microlise, the group has created greater visibility of performance across 16 operators, 500+ vehicles and 1,000 drivers, while allowing each operator to retain responsibility for its own day-to-day fleet and compliance management.

It is a relationship with roots spanning more than a decade. TruTac has worked with The Coach Travel Group and its operators for more than 10 years, providing technology that gives teams access to accurate, up-to-date compliance information and supports continuous improvement across the group.

All 16 operators currently sit within the Low or Very Low risk categories, with the group also working towards achieving DVSA Earned Recognition status across its wider operation.

Supporting compliance at scale

Formed in 2024, The Coach Travel Group brings together established coach operators from across the UK. Each operator retains its local roots, identity and customer relationships, while collectively providing extensive national coverage.

As the group has grown, maintaining a consistent approach to compliance across multiple operators and locations has become increasingly important.

The group uses a number of our compliance solutions, including TruAnalysis, TruTime and TruLinks, bringing live compliance data, dashboards and reporting into one place.

This gives The Coach Travel Group the ability to monitor key performance indicators by operator and compare planned activity against actual performance. It also helps the central team identify trends and understand where additional support may be needed.

Visibility without losing local ownership

A key part of the approach is balance.

Each operator remains responsible for its own day-to-day fleet and compliance management. At the same time, the central team has a clearer view of standards across the wider group.

That means individual businesses can maintain ownership of their compliance responsibilities, while The Coach Travel Group can share successful approaches and support continuous improvement.

Andrew Lucketts, Group Digital Director at The Coach Travel Group, said:

“Microlise gives us a trusted and reliable fleet technology solution that makes it easier for us to streamline and manage compliance across multiple sites.

“As we continue to grow and welcome new operators into the group, having consistent and accessible data is extremely important. It allows individual businesses to manage their own compliance effectively while giving us the wider visibility we need to understand performance across the group.

“We can identify trends, share successful approaches and focus support where it is needed, helping us continually raise standards across the operation.”

Working towards group-wide Earned Recognition

The platform is also supporting The Coach Travel Group’s commitment to DVSA Earned Recognition.

With three operators already achieving DVSA Earned Recognition status, the group’s ambition is for all operators to reach the same standard.

By giving teams access to the data needed to monitor performance against key compliance measures, our technology is helping The Coach Travel Group build a clearer route towards that goal.

Elaine Williams, Group Head of Safety, Operations and Compliance at The Coach Travel Group, said:

“With Microlise’s ongoing support, we have a technology partner that understands the needs of a growing and ambitious coach travel operation like us.

“The team are always on hand to offer their expertise and advice, helping us get the most out of our investment.”

Turning compliance data into action

For growing transport operations, compliance data becomes more valuable when it can be used to support better decisions.

For The Coach Travel Group, that means giving individual operators the tools they need to manage compliance locally, while creating a shared view of performance across the group.

Nadeem Raza, CEO at Microlise, said:

“Bringing together 16 established operators creates significant opportunities, but maintaining high standards as a group grows requires the right information to be available at the right time.

“The Coach Travel Group is showing how technology can help turn compliance data into something much more valuable – giving teams the insight to spot trends, share best practice and continually raise standards.

“Having worked with businesses across the group for more than a decade, we’re proud to continue supporting its ambitions as it grows.”

Raising standards across the group

As The Coach Travel Group continues to grow, we’re proud to support its ambition to strengthen compliance, maintain local ownership and build a consistent approach across its national operation.

With clear data and a continued focus on improvement, the group is well placed to keep raising standards across its network.
