Microlise the Clear Choice for Synseal

Microlise, the market leading Transport Management Systems provider, has been selected by Synseal to support the company’s efforts to reduce environmental impact and further improve already high levels of customer service. Through the deployment of the Microlise system, Synseal will improve fleet efficiency and decrease fuel usage to reduce carbon footprint, in line with a stringent environmental policy.

Synseal is the UK’s leading systems supplier of extruded PVC-U window and door profiles, sealed glass units, orangeries and conservatory roofs. The company was founded in 1980 and principally serves the UK and Ireland, in addition to exporting products to Europe and the US.  Synseal operate a mixed fleet of heavy goods vehicles fitted from two bases in the UK, delivering to an extensive customer base of approved fabricator partners nationwide.

Accredited with the ISO14001 certificate for environmental management, Synseal recognised the potential of telematics technology in helping to reduce carbon footprint and fuel usage.

In order to select the telematics provider that would deliver maximum return on investment, Synseal employed the services of consultancy firm Seven Summits Consulting to carry out due diligence on the market. Several telematics vendors were invited to tender for the business, which followed a pilot period on a simple system that provided the basis of the business case.

Microlise was selected as the provider of choice, due to the comprehensive solutions available across Fleet Performance, Journey Management and Proof of Delivery. Other factors included the cultural fit with the team at Synseal and Microlise’s track record of having solutions developed and implemented, delivering excellent results, across an impressive customer base.

“Microlise were the right choice for Synseal, and have delivered an excellent solution that is already delivering significant return on investment”, said Jeremy Ross, Managing Director at Seven Summits Consulting. “Not only were Microlise competitive on price, we were impressed with the post-implementation support offered that has seen a business realisation team deployed to ensure success at every stage”.

“The benefits offered through the use of telematics fit well within our service, cost and environmental plans, which are very important to Synseal”, said Jeff Newton, Head of Logistics at Synseal. “In Microlise, we feel we have found the best partner to help us achieve these objectives in our increasingly complex transport operation.”

Matt Hague, Product Strategy Director at Microlise commented, “We’re delighted to partner with Synseal. They’re a company that takes their corporate responsibility seriously – not just within their transport arm, but throughout their business.”

In phase two of the project, Synseal are planning to implement the Microlise Proof of Delivery solution to eliminate the need for delivery paperwork, further supporting Synseal’s environmental policy.
