McCulla Signs Microlise Group to Enhance its Fleet Operations

We are delighted to announce that McCulla, one of Ireland’s premier logistics companies, will start using our comprehensive suite of software solutions to optimise its fleet operations.

Our largest contract in Ireland to date, McCulla will implement Fleet Performance, Journey Management, SmartPOD, TruAnalysis, and TruChecks before the end of Q1 2024 to improve the overall performance of its extensive 209-trailer fleet.

We are also poised to assist McCulla in temperature monitoring, integrating with industry leaders Thermo King and Carrier to obtain critical temperature updates. The data will be accessible via our platform, providing real-time insights and ensuring the safe transport of temperature-sensitive cargo.

McCulla’s decision to appoint Microlise as its fleet management partner stems from the company’s need for top-tier customer service and true collaboration. It was also looking for a partner with a strong presence in the UK and Ireland to support its fleet of 110 HGVs which requires precise and tailored solutions to meet its unique requirements.

In line with its sustainability commitment, McCulla is also embracing a Circular Economy Green Haulage approach which can reduce carbon emissions by 93% and, using our software, promote efficient driving. Today, the Company operates 32 gas trucks – and its Coldstores – on Bio-methane gas derived from customer food waste, with surplus electricity going back into the grid. This initiative significantly reduces landfill waste to just 3-5%, highlighting McCulla’s eco-friendly logistics efforts.

Speaking on the announcement, Ian Kirkwood, Microlise Group’s Head of New Business, said:

“We are excited to partner with McCulla, a company renowned for its commitment to excellence in logistics. Our comprehensive solutions will empower McCulla to streamline its operations, at the same time enhancing its service quality and ensuring both safety and compliance.”

Brian Beattie, McCulla’s Operations Director, added:

“After identifying at Senior Management level the need to further develop the technology solution to run our ever expanding fleet and keep us at the leading edge of innovation, Microlise were soon identified as the ideal company to partner with.

“We have been very impressed with the Group’s onboarding process and the level of training and customer care we’ve received throughout the implementation phase.

“I look forward to using the advanced analysis and detailed information Microlise will provide us with to identify and reduce waste, increase our efficiency in fleet management and driver utilisation.”

As part of its forward-thinking strategy, McCulla is also exploring the implementation of additional solutions from Microlise Group for H1 2024.
