Last month, we launched Microlise Labs, our new-look customer forum, designed to bring our customers and product teams together to explore the future of transport technology.

Built around open discussion, shared experience and real-world operational insight, Microlise Labs gives us the opportunity to work closely with customers on the challenges that matter most. It’s about listening first, understanding what is happening on the ground, and using that insight to shape technology that delivers meaningful value.

Transport operations are changing quickly. Teams are managing more data, more systems and more pressure than ever before, while still needing to deliver safely, efficiently and compliantly every day.

That is where Microlise Labs comes in.

Rather than developing ideas in isolation, Labs creates a space for customers to share what is really happening across their operations: where time is being lost, where processes feel disconnected and where technology could make the biggest difference.

The format is deliberately collaborative. Through workshop-style sessions, customers can challenge our thinking, explore new ideas and help shape practical solutions built around real-world needs.

In June, we hosted our first Labs session of 2026 at Fazeley Studios in Birmingham, focused on AI in Transport Operations.

The day brought together transport operators from different sectors to explore how AI could support transport management, risk, safety and compliance. Across the sessions, one message came through clearly: the opportunity is not simply about adding more technology, but about making existing data easier to access, understand and act on.

Customers highlighted common challenges around fragmented information, manual administration and reactive processes. The strongest ideas focused on helping teams move towards more connected, proactive and informed operations, with AI supporting faster decisions and more meaningful insight.

The insight gathered through Microlise Labs is already helping shape our product thinking and future development.

Our teams are now exploring how the themes raised during the session can support future capabilities, with a focus on connected data, simpler workflows and insight that helps teams act earlier.
