Mobile Satellite Navigation software leader, ALK Technologies today announced its partnership with Microlise, a specialist in transport management, logistics and telematics solutions.
Sharing the same core values around a focus on the delivery of professional products and services, Microlise and ALK Technologies have worked together to successfully integrate and deploy CoPilot Live Professional as part of the wider Microlise Mobile Workforce portfolio.
As a result, Microlise clients whose field workers now rely on CoPilot Live satellite navigation include, Co-op Retail Distribution, 3663 First for Foodservice and DHL Logistics.
Key to this success is the ease with which CoPilot Live Professional has been embedded into the Microlise telematics product line. The Software Development Kit within CoPilot Live Professional enables seamless, safe, data exchange between applications providing accurate navigation on a broad range of hand held devices and fixed, in-cab terminals.
For example, through the utilisation of a single ruggedized device, Microlise can now provide their fleet customers with full, voice guided, turn by turn navigation integrated with Microlise modules such as Task Management, Proof of Delivery and Proof of Collection.
In addition, ALK and Microlise have worked closely on the testing and field development of a truck-specific version of CoPilot Live navigation. This enables attributes relating to the length, width, weight and consignment to provide vehicle specific navigation that avoids driving hazards such as low bridges, narrow lanes and concentrated areas of population.
Microlise‘s Mobile Worker application utilises simple bar-code scanning to automatically set CoPilot Truck to the attributes specific to a vehicle – eliminating user error and potentially costly routing mistakes.
