Increase safety by leveraging artificial intelligence

Around 80% of accidents can be linked to distracted driving. Take a proactive approach which leverages artificial intelligence to enhance driver awareness and reduce the risk of road accidents caused by distractions.

Real-time fleet management software by Microlise, offering transport tracking, route optimisation, and fuel efficiency solutions for logistics and supply chain optimisation.

Enhance safety

Alert drivers to distractions in real time. The AI Distraction Camera significantly enhances road safety, reducing the risk of accidents and saving lives.

Make cost savings

Reduce costs associated with accidents, insurance claims, and vehicle repairs by proactively addressing driver distractions and improving overall driving behaviour.

Establish liability quickly

Incidents, especially when they involve fatalities, are stressful times for drivers. Exonerating drivers quickly helps reduce unnecessary court cases and the associated stress for all involved.

Capture distractions in real-time

Our AI distraction camera utilises algorithms to alert drivers in real-time.

The system detects various forms of distraction, including:

  • Smoking
  • Texting and other phone-use
  • Unfastened driver seatbelt
  • Lens obstruction
  • Yawning
  • Other general distractions

Our AI cameras ensure immediate alerts are provided to the driver and creates an event to fleet managers to see within the Microlise system.

High-definition video recording

Review clear high-definition recordings from our AI Camera when an event is registered, making it easy to conduct quick and simple debrief and offer coaching to improve behaviour.

Instant alerts

With notification and alert capabilities, the camera notifies drivers instantly when a distraction is detected.

These alerts help drivers correct their behaviour promptly, reducing the likelihood of accidents and improving overall road safety.

Gather insights through data

Our AI distraction camera analyses driver behaviour for potential indicators of risk factors like mobile phone use and smoking, raising a system alert when drivers don’t take corrective action.

Fleet managers can review these system alerts and use our incident data recorder to spot trends over time, gain insights into which drivers need guidance towards safer behaviours, and investigate incidents quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The AI Distraction Camera monitors the driver’s in-cab activity for indications of distraction.

It uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help improve driver safety by sending a visual and audio alert in real time to a driver engaged in distracted driving, encouraging them to correct their behaviour. An event is registered to the Microlise System for manager review.

Distracted driving includes:

• Mobile phone use
• Smoking
• Unfastened driver seatbelt
• General distraction
• Lens obstruction
• Yawning
• General distraction

The AI Distraction Camera does not look for single gestures. The technology spots specific driving patterns that indicate distracted behaviour and potential risk.

The AI Distraction Camera is incredibly accurate but as with all AI camera systems, a small number of false positives will undoubtedly happen. However, when an event is registered on the system, the footage can easily be requested and reviewed meaning any false positives can quickly be discounted.

No. A revised CCTV code of practice which deemed sound recording unnecessary was released in 2008 by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Unless there is a very specific need to record sound alongside footage, it could be considered intrusive.

Microlise have specifically omitted sound capture from our requirements due to the potential legal implications for our customers.

All hardware is fully supported by your standard Microlise Warranty and are subject to similar SLA’s as in your Microlise Contract.

ADAS technology is built within the forward facing camera to monitor the road ahead for the following potential hazards:

· Lane departure
· Front collision
· Tailgating

It’s key aim is to reduce risky driving habits and to alert of potential dangers to drivers and other road users.

Yes it does. The forward facing camera monitors the road ahead using AI technology to distinguish whether the hazard is another vehicle, a pedestrian or a static object such as street furniture.

The camera also monitors the position of the moving vehicle in relation to road markings. Where lane changes occur without indication, an alert is given to the driver.
