Telematics and transport technology company Microlise has been named Nottinghamshire Business of the Year by the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce.
The company, which also won the Excellence in International Trade category at the annual awards, has seen turnover and net profit more than double over five years; with exports surging approximately five-fold in that time period.
Microlise has grown to become a world leader in vehicle fleet management solutions and works with 80% of the supermarkets in the UK, 13 of the 15 largest retailers and major transport operators like DHL and Eddie Stobart. More than 70% of heavy goods vehicle drivers in the UK were recorded by Microlise systems in 2017.
Receiving the award from Mazars, the headline sponsor of the Chamber’s Business Awards 2018, Jonathan Dolby, Marketing Director at Microlise, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win these awards. It really is a testament to the hard work everybody at Microlise has put in over the last few years and continues to put in every day.”
The company was one of 12 to win an award on the night, as the Chamber celebrated the strength and successes of businesses across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Chamber President Rob Mayo said: “Taking part in the Chamber’s Business Awards, the only local awards to offer winners the chance to go on to compete on a regional and national stage at the British Chambers of Commerce Awards, is just one way to be part of that celebration. We congratulate every winner tonight and every organisation that made it through the final shortlist,” he said.
This year Microlise also won the much lauded Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade also in recognition of its expansion into international markets.
