New CILT Chief Exec to Speak at Microlise Transport Conference

Kevin_Richardson_640px2 New Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Kevin Richardson, has been confirmed as a speaker at the Microlise Transport Conference, now the largest road transport conference in Europe.

Richardson joined the Institute in December 2015 and this will be among the first opportunities to hear him speak publicly about his vision for the CILT and some of the key issues facing the logistics and transport industry.

The Microlise Transport Conference, now a key date in the calendar for transport professionals, looks set to attract more than a thousand delegates this year when the event takes place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on the 18 May, 2016.

The conference includes a full day’s programme and is supported by focused workshops and a 3,500 square metre industry exhibition area, facilitating a great opportunity for networking and engagement. The conference programme will once again be chaired by Quentin Willson, one of Britain’s best-known motoring authorities, and will feature speakers from across the industry, including transport operators, industry bodies and other key stakeholders.

“Taking on the Chief Executive role, a key part of my job is to move the institute forward. This platform at the Microlise Transport Conference enables me to reach the entire road transport industry, while they are in one place,” said Richardson. “Road transport is essential to so many day-to-day activities and is integral to the future prosperity of the UK. I am looking forward to speaking at the conference.”

Before taking the role of Chief Executive at the Institute, Richardson was most recently European Development Director for four years at XPO Logistics and Norbert Dentressangle. Prior to that, he spent 20 years at TDG Plc.

“We welcome the news that the new Chief Executive of the CILT will join us in May,” said Nadeem Raza, Chief Executive Officer, Microlise.  “We are working hard to ensure the best possible line-up of speakers at the conference this year and we are very pleased to have Kevin on board. We look forward to announcing further exciting names over the coming weeks.”

In addition to the conference programme, delegates attending in 2016 will gain access to a series of workshop areas covering a range of topics relevant for transport professionals and an exhibition area a third bigger than last year.

Registration for the event has now opened through the all new conference website, which can be found at www.microliseconference.com. The Microlise Transport Conference is free to attend, with both the available exhibitor and delegate places expected to be taken quickly.
