We recently completed a number of two-part Graduate and Apprentice Assessment Days to support us in our search for the next generation of passionate and talented software developers.

We received over a hundred applications in all, which was an incredibly positive response rate that made the process of shortlisting a very challenging one. We eventually managed to whittle down the applicants to 20 candidates for each role.

We hosted the assessment days at our Head Office in Eastwood, Nottingham. Candidates took part in both group and individual tasks to demonstrate their technical ability, teamwork, logical thinking and above all their passion, commitment and enthusiasm for software development. During the day, the team also had an opportunity to meet our current apprentices and graduates who had been put through their paces during a very similar event a very short time ago!

On day two of the recruitment drive, our would-be graduates and apprentices got an insight into the world of extreme programming, courtesy of Kevin Davis, Development Manager, UK. They also got the chance to interact with a number of senior leaders from across the business to consider our Core Values and to showcase why they should be given one of the places on our programme.

As a result, we have successfully recruited 10 graduates and apprentices to join our next Bootcamp in the summer –  we look forward to them joining our growing Microlise team.
