The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Junior Field Engineer who is eager to start their career in the telematics industry. This is a field-based role supporting customers across the Sydney region, where you’ll play a vital part in installing, servicing and supporting Microlise technology within customer vehicles.
No prior telematics experience? No problem. Full training is provided, we’re looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
What you’ll be doing
As a Junior Field Engineer, you’ll be hands-on from day one, including:
- Visiting customer sites to install, service and support Microlise products
- Completing survey visits and recommending suitable technical solutions
- Carrying out QA checks on Microlise products and vehicle peripherals
- Managing inventory and equipment
- Taking responsibility for the upkeep and safety of your company vehicle and tools
- Liaising with customers at all levels in a professional manner
- Supporting colleagues and contractor resources when required
- Maintaining accurate, professional administration
- Following internal processes and procedures
- Producing reports and statistical information when needed
What we’re looking for
We’re keen to hear from motivated individuals who bring:
- A basic knowledge of electronics or auto-electrics (or an interest in learning)
- Experience working to Service Level Agreements and schedules (desirable)
- An understanding of vehicle wiring diagrams (advantageous, not essential)
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach
- A positive, can-do attitude and genuine desire to learn
- The ability to work independently, solve problems and follow processes
- Pride in delivering quality, accurate work
- Strong communication skills and adaptability across audiences
Essential requirements:
- Full driving licence
- Valid passport (travel may be required)
Working Pattern
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, with occasional late or weekend work
- Travel and overnight stays may be required depending on customer demand
