We are looking for a new Warehouse & Manufacturing Operative, to work alongside our already established team! You will be responsible for ensuring the effective processing of accurate stock transactions, goods distribution and the safeguarding of company assets. You will also work alongside the team to ensure the repairing, testing, and configuration of equipment in readiness for delivery and operations at customer sites.

To support our Supply Chain team in maintaining efficiency, this varied role means you could be processing transactions in our busy warehouse, picking and packing goods for our many customers one day, and then actually building those goods the next!

Working Hours: 

This is a full-time role, working on site at our Head Office in Eastwood, Nottingham. The working hours are 8am – 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, then 1:30pm finish on Friday! 

What you will be doing:

  • Timebound goods in/out
  • Tight inventory control
  • Ensure effective control of stock into, around and out of the business in-line with procedures and demand
  • Receipt and shipment of service repairs, in line with Service Level Agreements
  • Receipt of PO’s from suppliers
  • Kitting of sales orders and works orders in line with system demand
  • Dispatch of shipments including packing and preparation of courier manifests as appropriate
  • Carrying out perpetual inventory checks to ensure constant accuracy of stock records and actual physical state
  • Ensuring that stock is correctly labelled and stored
  • Liaison with both internal and external customers at all levels
  • Manoeuvring forklift trucks safely, including loading and unloading goods
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations, attending additional courses as and when required
  • Repair, configure and test Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) following laid down written documentation
  • All jobs to be completed within set timescales and in conjunction with internal quality standards
  • Ensure product build standards are met and high standards of housekeeping are always maintained
  • Maintain accurate electronic records in accordance with internal systems
  • Assist other members of the department, where skills permit, to ensure efficiency levels are achieved
  • Additionally building and testing cable loom assemblies

Please note: The successful candidates job title will be Materials Controller, in line with our current organisational structure. 

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing or Warehouse role, ideally with knowledge of mobile communications (GPS/GSM) and PEDs
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety best practices and procedures relating to a warehouse and workshop environment including ESD protection
  • Understanding of MS Office Suite, including the ability to input databases and spreadsheets
  • Team player, combined with the ability to work under own initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to follow written instructions
  • Good communication skills, with ability to adjust style to relevant audiences
  • Ability to meet commitments and deadlines, whilst being flexible and open to the needs of the business
  • Excellent time-keeping and organisational skills, able to prioritise own workload
  • Highly self-motivated and target driven with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Valid counterbalance forklift truck license is advantageous
