We have a brand new and exciting opportunity as a Senior Commercial Analyst, joining our Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and wider Finance Team.  Your responsibilities will include supporting the FP&A Manager with annual and other planning processes, such as sales and cost plans along with mid-year forecasts. Your role will also entail building relationships with key stakeholders, including business partnering internally to support commercial teams in obtaining optimal performance.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the FP&A manager in the annual planning process, including preparation of sales and cost plans, timetable management, presentation reviews, feedback and analysis
  • To support other planning processes which include mid-year forecasts, providing analysis and reports as appropriate
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, business partnering with internal departments to provide value-added analysis to improve business performance
  • Conduct proactive value financial analysis and continually improve reports to help the commercial teams obtain optimal performance
  • Report and analyse the profitability of differing revenue streams and departments
  • Review and continually improve customer segmentation and provide relevant analysis
  • Support the FP&A Manager in the production of the monthly board reports
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Identify trends and recommend actions based on sound analysis
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar financial analyst role
  • A relevant accounting qualification (Ideally CIMA Part or Fully Qualified)
  • Experience working within a (Software as a Service) SaaS business is preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and strong working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships and business partnering skills
  • Experience with BI tools, extracting and manipulating data
  • A self-starter with the ability to take ownership to work autonomously and use initiative
  • Integrity and professionalism, with a high level of personal accountability
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and focus on deadlines
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills 
  • Confident, with the ability to influence and persuade
  • A team player with a positive 'can do' attitude, focused on finding solutions
