Volunteering Day at Bulwell Forest Gardens, Nottingham
Last week, our team had the opportunity to spend the day volunteering at Bulwell Forest Gardens, and what an incredible experience it was! Taking time out of the day to day, to give back to the community was not only rewarding, but uplifting.
We were welcomed into an environment filled with energy, care and purpose. It was so much more than just a garden, it is a thriving community hub and the work they do is truly inspiring. Whether it’s growing fresh fruit and vegetables, preparing homemade lunches using their own produce, or selling plants to the community – everything is done with true passion and heart.
We were blown away by the dedication of the staff. You can tell how much they genuinely care about what they’re doing, and their passion was infectious. We learned so much about sustainable gardening, the importance of local food systems, and how community led spaces like this can have such a positive impact on people’s wellbeing.
What made the day even more special was seeing other local companies also volunteering, side by side with members of the public, who regularly donate their free time. It was a powerful reminder of how important it is to come together and support causes that matter.
Spending the day digging, planting and helping out wherever we could really bonded the team together, but also to nature! I’m not a huge gardener, but after planting a range of different vegetables and fruits, I have had a boost of energy to keep up with my own garden. We left the day very muddy, very tired but also very inspired!
Thank you to everyone at Bulwell Forest Gardens for the warm welcome and the amazing work you do every day!
