Proud to stand-by-side our charity partner, Transaid.
Every penny has helped in some way to power Transaid’s life-saving projects across sub-Saharan Africa, from improving road safety to improving access to healthcare, it’s been a fulfilling journey so far, with fun and hard work in equal doses!
How do we work with Transaid?
The annual Cycle Challenges are an extra special highlight to the fundraising calendar!
Over the years, #TeamMicrolise have cycled across South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Paris and most recently, Kenya. Through these challenges alone, we have raised over £123,000 – a huge accomplishment for our cyclists and their support networks.
Our Transaid Ambassador, Andree Ball has taken part in many of the challenges, and also does a tremendous job to bring our events to life and co-ordinate between the two organisations.
Up next is the Cork to Dublin Cycle Challenge in September, let’s see how much more we can raise.
Here are a few more examples of how we work together…
- At the Driver of the Year Awards, the team host the Transaid raffle and Silent Auction. raising thousands in raffle tickets and generous bids from the guests
- Transaid’s coffee stall always attracts a great crowd, and those all-important donations, at the Microlise Transport Conference
- A hugely popular event, the Transaid Charity Golf Day hosted at the prestigious JCB Golf & Country Club, in partnership with our long-standing customer, JCB
- The Transaid Cup brings the best footballers from the logistics sector, in partnership Libra Europe and Ilkeston Town FC
- We also supply telematics to vehicles donated to Transaid’s partner training centres across Africa
A Partnership
Speaking on our partnership, Caroline Barber, Transaid’s CEO, said:
“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 10 years of Transaid’s partnership with Microlise – a relationship defined by shared values, mutual respect and an unwavering commitment to making transport safer and more accessible in the communities we serve.
“Over the past decade, Microlise has not only provided generous financial support, but has also engaged their staff, customers, and wider network to champion our cause. From cycling challenges to event sponsorship, their involvement has had a truly transformative impact.
“Thanks to their steadfast support, we’ve been able to scale life-saving transport solutions across sub-Saharan Africa, train community health volunteers and professional drivers, and respond to some of the most pressing mobility challenges facing rural communities.”
Here’s to the next 10 years!
With more still in the bag for 2025, including the Transit Cup next month, and the Cork to Dublin Cycle Challenge in September, we’re hopeful our fundraising efforts will make this our biggest year yet.
