\u201cIt\u2019s an unprecedented time\u201d is probably the phrase most used to describe the current situation we find ourselves in. What a time it is to be alive. The world will never be the same again. It\u2019s true, isn\u2019t it? We are currently experiencing something that is a first for our generation and something that will doubtless go down in history as the largest pandemic the world has ever seen.<\/p>\n
Naturally, when we first went into lockdown, we like many other organisations, made the decision to put a hold on all recruitment while staying focused on the candidates who were already in our pipeline. Our HR, IT and stores teams collaborated to put systems in place so our new starters received everything they needed on Day 1 to recreate their office work station at home. Hardware was preloaded and prepped so laptops, monitors, keyboards and headsets were ready to go. If we weren\u2019t the type of company that was already convinced of the benefit of new technologies we were ready to embrace them now, to identify new ways of supporting new starters and help them embed into their remote teams at speed.<\/p>\n
