The Freight Transport Association (FTA), one of the road transport industry’s leading authorities, is once again running its FTA Transport Manager series of events. This it has successfully done for many years and 2015 will be no different, with the series kicking off on the 9th September when the first event is taking place at Brands Hatch – the UK’s spiritual home of racing.
We’re pleased to be taking part in every one of the 12 roadshow events taking place across the length and breadth of the country; all the way from Kent to Dunblane (see the complete list of dates and venues below). As a sponsor of the events, we’ll be exhibiting and delivering a short session in the programme, asking delegates a number of questions looking at the latest available technologies and challenges facing the haulage industry. The team is looking forward to engaging with delegates up and down the UK.
The events provide a great opportunity for attendees to find out about the Traffic Commissioners’ priorities for the year ahead, the priorities for enforcement from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and to get the latest on what is happening in their area.
Each event will also feature a role play of a mock public inquiry, alongside a multitude of topics and speakers, covering:
- Managing the road network and avoiding congestion – including Operation Stack
- Keeping your O licence in 2016 – including next generation enforcement and earned recognition
- Responding to the air quality challenge
- Driver management – including understanding the lessons from Glasgow
- Driver crisis – recruit and retain drivers in a tough market
Alongside the Traffic Commissioners and DVSA, delegates will also get a chance to speak with the Highways Agency and FTA policy experts who will cover important developments, the latest legislation and the impact on operators.
We hope to see you at the first road show roadshow next month, or at one of the subsequent 11 events around the country.
