Working with Transaid, we’ve helped to develop a new website for Cycle Zambia, the international development organisation’s flagship fundraising event for 2018 which aims to raise in excess of £150,000.
The new site features everything you need to know about Cycle Zambia including fundraising progress, the route and teams. Once the challenge sets off in September 2018, the 40 riders will also be tracked online, using Microlise technology, so that supporters can follow their progress.
A team of eight from Microlise will take on the challenge so you will see a few familiar faces in the team line-up.
The challenge itself takes place between Friday 21st September and Sunday 30th September 2018, and will see cyclists riding 490 kilometres – over just five days – from the capital city Lusaka to the breath-taking Victoria Falls.
Microlise has been a corporate supporter of Transaid since 2015 and since then has helped with the provision of telematics services for its bicycle ambulance initiative in Zambia, which takes pregnant women to medical facilities, and other projects aimed at improving driving skills to reduce road deaths and accidents.
Money raised by the Cycle Zambia challenge will be used by Transaid to deliver driver training programmes to improve the standards of HGV drivers in a number of African countries.
