Microlise Transport Conference Announces Expanded Programme for 2018 and Opens Registration

An enhanced programme and impressive speaker line-up have today been promised as the Microlise Transport Conference opens registration for its 16th May, 2018 event at The Ricoh Arena.

Recognised as Europe’s largest road transport conference, and attracting more than 1,200 delegates in 2017 it has become the most vibrant event in the annual road transport calendar.

The free-to-attend conference will build further on its innovation and technology focus, offering insight on the industry’s big topics from platooning and alternative fuels; to skills, compliance and inevitably, the effects on the industry of Brexit.

Filling the 6,000 square metre hall at the home of the Wasps rugby team, the programme will this year feature an even stronger speaker line-up, three focused workshops and an all new innovation zone. The conference will again be supported by a sizable exhibition area featuring prominent transport brands, alongside innovators, industry organisations and other special guests.

“It has been great to see the Microlise Transport Conference grow in stature and importance,” said Nadeem Raza, Chief Executive Officer, Microlise. “We began in our board room with 20 friendly faces just less than a decade ago and have watched as the event has grown tremendously. It’s now become a key industry event where the bonds of collaboration and cooperation are fused, and the key issues discussed and debated.”

Past speakers include some of the industry’s most distinguished influencers including HRH The Princess Royal, operators such as Eddie Stobart Logistics and Maritime Transport, the DVSA, Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain and Transport for London. Almost all of Europe’s HGV manufacturers have also been represented.

Alongside the conference, the Microlise Driver of the Year Awards will again celebrate the UK’s most talented HGV drivers, both through analysis of more than 180,000 drivers’ telematics data, and via industry nominated categories. The nominated categories include HGV Hero, Lifetime Achievement, Extra Mile, Most Improved and Young Driver of the Year.

Motor Transport will once again be the media partner for the conference, hosting a special manufacturer panel session in the main conference agenda. Transaid will be supported as the conference charity of choice.

The Ricoh Arena is conveniently located in the centre of England within a two hour drive of 75% of England’s population.
