ARYZTA Food Solutions Cooks Up Fleet Performance and Delivery Improvements

Corporate Photo ARYZTA Food Solutions UK, a global food business with a leadership position in speciality bakery products, has deployed fleet performance and journey management solutions from transport management solution provider Microlise across its entire UK fleet of 105 vehicles.

The company, which owns and operates the Delice de France brand, along with a host of other food businesses in Europe, the Americas and Australasia is aiming to boost its delivery operation and provide a bespoke service for its customers.

The new solutions will link up with the company’s existing planning and route optimisation tool, ORTEC, to track delivery efficiency and enable performance improvements. Microlise will also help the company to engage its drivers to significantly reduce fuel costs and cut down on emissions.

Ronan Quigley, Head of Central Operation at ARYZTA Food Solutions, said that the company often has an intense schedule, with deliveries to its customers in the hospitality, education and retail sectors having specifically defined time windows.

“We trialled Microlise Fleet Performance on 12 vehicles at the beginning of this year and the results exceeded our expectations. We wanted to achieve significant improvements in route optimisation, tracking and driver performance. Following a thorough review of what is on the market, Microlise proved to be the best tool to achieve our goals,” said Quigley.

ARYZTA Food Solutions also opted for the Microlise products with a consideration for its plan to roll out a full electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) solution in the future, something that Microlise already has as part of its product suite.

“As one of the largest frozen bakery companies in the world ARYZTA has a very ambitious target to be able to offer extremely accurate, fast and flexible delivery options for its customers. We are pleased to have been able to demonstrate that our solutions can help them to achieve this, and look forward to working together on this and the next phase of the project,” said Nadeem Raza, Chief Executive Officer, Microlise.

Additionally, Microlise Fleet Performance will help ARYZTA Food Solutions to increase vehicle uptime and utilisation, while reducing wear and tear. Meanwhile Microlise Journey Management will enable the comparison of planned versus actual deliveries, reduce wasted mileage and deliver proactive customer services. ARYZTA will also use the 7” ruggedised, Android based, touch screen driver communications Microlise DriveTab tablets.
