Meet Samantha Brown, Our Head of Global Projects

When did you join?
I joined in February in a role that will see me overseeing programme delivery for Microlise’s international projects, including OEM customers and partners. This will include DAF Trucks, MAN Truck & Bus UK, Knorr-Bremse, JCB, Emirates Logistics, Tata Motors and a host of companies we are working with on tyre pressure monitoring.

Where did you work before?
I joined the team from Northgate Vehicle Hire where I was Head of Business Transformation. I’ve held a number of senior project management positions in the logistics industry, including at TK Maxx and third party logistics provider Prolog.

What did you do in your previous roles?
I oversaw and planned an expansion into Eastern Europe for TK Maxx and worked on prestigious projects including Comic Relief and supplying a network of pop up shops for the 2012 Olympics. At TK Maxx I was picked as one of six employees during an internal competition, beating 1,600 fellow employees. The company asked staff to submit an A4 page detailing how they thought they could add value to the company.

Do you have international experience?
At TK Maxx I worked on a series of exciting projects gaining invaluable experience with overseas customers; while at Roscom I was responsible for customers all over the world and visited them in places like Dubai, Kenya and Moldova. Change management is another area of experience I gained whilst working on various projects across different countries.

Do you have any hobbies?
I am a big sports fan and a life-long Leicester Tigers supporter. I have held a season ticket for longer than I care to admit. During the summer I score for my husband’s cricket team and attend as many Test Matches as possible supporting England.

Does sport run in the family?
I have one daughter, aged 11, who recently won the England WKKC National Karate Championships in Bradford. She will be competing in Orlando next, representing England at the world championship and has aspirations to compete at the 2020 Olympics in Japan.
