Overview

Microlise Vehicle Tracking is a real-time tracking and reporting solution designed to meet the needs of todays Fleet & Transport Managers through the provision of automatic vehicle location technology, GIS mapping and comprehensive fleet reporting

Vehicle tracking allows businesses to track their mobile assets and resources using Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite tracking via the intelligent Microlise Tracking Unit (MTU) installed in the vehicle which transmits data back to the host system over WiFi, GPRS or satellite communications. Options enable voice communication and other sensors for temperature, RFID, power take off, axle weight and doors etc. to be connected to the device. Client software provides real-time visibility of the fleet with street level mapping, digital dashboard, replay of historical data, event and alert escalation, geo-fencing of points of interest such as depots, delivery addresses, etc. and comprehensive operational reporting.

Soft telematics can be calculated from changes in vehicle position to derive direction, distance, speed, acceleration and deceleration to vehicle performance and driver style. Optionally the MTU can be connected to the vehicle engine management system to collect additional detailed CANBus/FMS data including igition staus, fuel consumption, gear selection, use of cruise control, throttle position etc. to provide in depth reporting of vehicle operation and driving style.

Typical business problems Microlise Vehicle Tracking addresses include:

  • Inefficient fleet utilisation
  • Poor responsiveness to customer
  • Unproductive drivers time (WTD)
  • Validation of overtime claims
  • Customer service expectations not met
  • Inefficient allocation of tasks and jobs
  • Unproductive mileage
  • Rising fleet insurance costs
  • Stolen vehicle recovery
  • Rising driver costs
  • Driver communication costs
