The combination of wireless radio frequency (RF) connectivity combined with hands and eyes free operation can bring significant benefits within the stock movement environment of the modern logistics centre. Increased productivity and accuracy coupled with reduced employee fatigue combine to provide high efficiency and fast return on investment.

To encompass this technology within our existing solutions portfolio, Microlise have partnered with the leading voice technology specialists, Vocollect. Opus Voice uses a Talkman® T2 voice-enabled RF terminal and integrates all, or part, of the stock transaction requirements of the solution :-

• Goods received and checking
• Put away and replenishment
• Case and item picking
• Marshalling and assembly
• Checking and loading
• Perpetual inventory and stock check

Individual operator voice profiles are stored on the server and downloaded to the particular Talkman® T2 unit at log on. All translation between voice and data is performed locally on the Talkman® T2 using an Opus Voice client to minimise network bandwidth requirement and allow continued operation in radio dead spots.
